Dear Marine Corps Families,

UPDATED: September 18, 3:45 PM Central Time

We are just around the corner from being COMPLETE! We've passed our final inspection and we'll be moving in on Monday, September 21! It took 8 months, thousands of hours of donated labor, thousands of dollars in donated funding and thousands of dollars in donated materials.

Our ribbon cutting date is confirmed for the next packing date of October 31, 2009. Be sure to check out the updated photos. We'll continue to post updates as we get moved in.

Thanks to the hundreds of folks that made this happen from California to Maine and every state in between. Thanks to the hundreds that helped with labor throughout this process. This is truly a community project and we look forward to you stopping by sometime to see the fruits of YOUR labor!

Original Letter, February 2009

This is Tracy Della Vecchia, the founder of Marine Parents and The Care Package Project™. We need your help in a huge way to renovate space for our office.

Our landlord has asked all tenants in our building to move by May 1. I've asked to extend to July 1. We've had to find new office space and it's been an incredible challenge. We have so much space here and spread out to even more during packing day--it will not be possible to afford the same.

We've found space just a few warehouses down from our current location. I'll sign the lease early next week and we got a really great deal from some very generous folks again. The building needs a huge amount of work for what will be used as the office space and I need your help making that happen. We'll be doing a fundraiser to collect funds for materials required for renovation in addition to asking for donations and I'm going to have to have all of the labor donated.

I would like to take a moment to thank Jeffrey Smith, Bob LeMone, and Jay Burchfield for providing our current office space to us for 2 1/2 years at a greatly reduced price. Thank you; your contribution to our efforts helped to assure more of our dollars go into our Outreach Programs such as The Care Package Project, Purple Heart Family Support, and Operation PAL.

These pages of the web site, about "The Move" will serve as information for volunteers, schedules, planning, and our lists of needs as far as materials and labor. Use the links at the top right to learn more.

We have another journey ahead of us and once again, we'll move forward and succeed with the help of our Marine families and local community. Thanks for taking this next journey with us, and I look forward to working with you!
